Marrow is an ongoing collaboration of Centa Schumacher, Andrew W. Allison, and Liz Rudnick. Marrow takes its name from the fuel source Paleolithic people used to create humanity’s earliest accomplished art — prehistoric cave paintings.
To see their work surfaces as well as activate the final works, artists burned torches made of marrow — also their most nutrient-rich food source — thereby risking their survival in the name of making art.
Marrow engages in projects fueled by a similar urgency. Our main concerns are collaboration, improvisation, process, and site. We are averse to egoist hierarchies, rigid expectations, boring audience experiences, and the fear of failure.
Marrow opens this spring. Sign up with your email address to get notified.
